About Sarah
Sarah Celotto is a wife, mother of three, and fitness instructor. Originally from Ireland, she moved to Connecticut at age 7 and later attended Albertus Magnus College, where she earned a degree in Business and Economics. She also holds a Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of New Haven.
Sarah has worked in various roles, from managing a fitness studio to being a paraeducator for special needs students, ultimately choosing to stay home and raise her children. During this time, she became deeply involved in volunteer work with local charities and school PTOs.
When one of her children came out as transgender, Sarah committed to learning everything she could to support them. This journey led her to found ALEX, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth and their families. Through ALEX, Sarah aims to promote acceptance, love, and understanding for all individuals, helping those who have felt unseen or unsupported find their true selves in a judgment-free community.
In addition to her nonprofit work, Sarah now engages in public speaking to support families and the broader community through the transition journey. She helps guide individuals and families navigating this process, offering insights on creating understanding and fostering acceptance at every step.
